Love on the Vine

Having the wedding ceremony at a vineyard tickles my fancy. Many wineries host weddings and events which include wine tastings and catering. This is becomming very popular in the United States. This would be a unique experience for such a special day. Wine tastings would also be fun at the reception. Italian Cuisine? Delicious!
Imagine...a lush green backdrop complimented with wine and the great outdoors. Just beautiful!
The vineyard venue paired with a wine bottle wedding invite is adorable and still classy. I think this would be a ceremony everyone would want to attend! I found this invite at Invitation Consultant's website. Front price at $358 for 100....or less if you have time, sissors, thick black paper, ribbon, and a printer. Spend a weekend with friends creating the invitations serving wine (of course) and finger foods for their efforts. It would be fun and save a few pennies along the way!
The soft extractive note of an aged cork being withdrawn has the true sound of a man opening his heart.

The Wedding Budget 101

It's hard to find a place to start when planning a wedding. First and foremost, a budget must be in place. Be sure to stick within the average percentages and you will be just fine. Take a deep breath, you will do just fine. Here goes:

  • Attire 5-12%
  • Cake 2-3%
  • Ceremony 6-10%
  • Entertainment 3-10%
  • Flowers 5-15%
  • Invitations 2-5%
  • Reception 35-55%
  • Photography/Video 7-13%
  • Transportation 2%
  • Rings 7-15%

Setting a budget template will help determine amounts to spend in each category. The good news is that if you find a golden nugget under budget in one category - it can roll over to another.

I have created my budget below. This is not the end-all and be-all just yet, but is a good starting point.

  • 1.Reception (food) 45%
  • 2. Photography/Video 10%
  • 3. Flowers 10%
  • 4. Ceremony 7%
  • 5. Entertainment 5%
  • 6. Attire 5%
  • 7. Cake 2%
  • 8. Transportation 2%
  • 9. Invitations 2%
  • 10. Miscellaneous snazzy extras 12%

I am an avid planner, lister, & stresser. I am in love with my BF - which we are not engaged (yet!) To his surprise - I will have everything down to a tee mixed in with a hot cup of frugality. This is going to be a lot of fun. Welcome aboard!
